This work aims to investigate the possibilities of thinking about museology in the light of contemporary practices of digital culture and the various information networks that constitute the Wiki platforms. It is understood that these platforms are part of a free information ecology existing on the internet and that their incorporation in museum educational and museological practices can become important allies in promoting qualified access to museum collections for the public. For this, an exploratory, qualitative study was carried out, which proposes an essay that seeks to understand characteristics of the area of museology and the area of digital culture, as well as their relationships mediated and expressed by the modes of operation of these information networks. The findings offer enormous potential for these platforms for museology and, in particular, for museal education.
