A revolutionary dynamo: Theater group “Province”

Abstract

The practice of the Group Province synthesized a series of procedures and ways that many theater’s nuclei in Porto Alegre would have from then on, towards settling their work. Created in 1970, was part of teachers and students of the Department of Dramatic Arts at UFRGS and printed in an experimental stage production of their proposals.

Clóvis Dias Massa, UFRGS

Pesquisador acadêmico no campo da teatralidade, da poética e da estética teatrais. Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Arte Dramática do Instituto de Artes da UFRGS, na área de História do Espetáculo e Teoria do Teatro. Doutor em Teoria da Literatura pela PUCRS, com a tese Estética Teatral e Teoria da Recepção. Estágio Doutoral realizado na Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint Denis. Mestre pela Escola de Comunicações e Artes da USP, com a dissertação O Paradoxo de Criação do Ator na Encenação Teatral. Graduado em Artes Cênicas: Hab. em Interpretação Teatral pela UFRGS. Integrante do Grupo de Pesquisa Teoria Teatral: História, Dramaturgia e Estética do Espetáculo, vinculado ao Diretório de Grupos de Pesquisa do CNPq, pelo qual duas integrantes receberam o Prêmio Jovem Pesquisador na área de Letras, Linguística e Artes no XV e no XXI Salões de Iniciação Científica da UFRGS, respectivamente, com as pesquisas O Papel da Mulher no Teatro Grego Antigo, e Molière Hoje: A Comicidade de Sua Dramaturgia em Diferentes Concretizações Cênicas, ambas sob sua orientação
