This text considers the museum as an institution that places the objects in a symbolically differentiated status. By identifying and tracking a determined museum route, it was possible to investigate the discursive narratives of two specific groups involved in the objects’ recognition as museum pieces, donators and agents of the museum field. These narratives allowed us to understand how, through the museum, people and social groups deal with their past and memory, and then endow the museum with different meanings, which make it relevant in an individual or collective way.
