The necessity of recognition and visibility so that we can value cultural and material heritage is a consequence of a time where everything is disposable, where values have melted away, information is digital and the past is invisible. In this context, studying the marble artifacts as a foundation of the memory of Santa Casa de Caridade de Bagé Cemetery means to rescue part of the city’s memory. To exam this funerary asset means to give meaning to the local history because the funerary monuments built in the city are the register of the history of the city which deserves recognition and visibility.
