From issues already proposed by authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Giovanni Levi, François Dosse and Peter Burke about biography is its close relationship with elements that constitute the memory, we seek to provide support for the questioning of these issues in the construction of Lindolfo Collor`s image through some biographical accounts of nature. Issues involving various interests and objectives in the creation and maintenance of memory on that personality, are discussed briefly biographical elements of these reports produced by intellectuals and thinkers connected with the Historical Institute of São Leopoldo, and his attempts to link the image of Lindolfo Collor with the German immigration, an important pillar on which rests the history of São Leopoldo/RS.
