The present research aims to make a diagnosis about the dissemination of collections management policies by Brazilian museums through the web in order to understand the national situation regarding the dissemination of this type of document. It intends to analyze the content of the recovered documents in order to understand how this documents establish relations between the constituent stages of the management of the museum collections (acquisition, documentation, conservation, loans and alienation). It was concluded that less than 1% of Brazilian museums make their collection management policies available on the web. Also, the few policies recovered belong to public institutions and they highlight the interrelations between the processes of collection management, emphasizing the importance of their complementarity to the efficiency and effectiveness of the collection management system for the museum.Downloads
