Abstract

As important as the built heritage that make up the Alhambra and the Generalife is the image that over the centuries has been projected to the world on this monumental complex. In it have had much to do those romantic travelers who looked for a nearby East in Spanish lands. Regardless of the opinions, more or less fortunate, that were poured over “the Spanish”, what is indisputable is that thanks to them the Alhambra was referenced, and by extension, the city of Granada, as one of the universally recognized tourist destinations. The way in which we currently use that projected image and strongly rooted in the collective imagination is a work that must start from a deep multidisciplinary reflection. But it must be taken into consideration, that the result of the same should be obtained the knowledge and means to translate a view of multiple faces on the Nazari monumental set in which they should be involved from the citizens of Granada to the agencies and institutions competent in their management.
