The current research evidences the representation of the feminine gender through two periodicals, Almanach de Pelotas and Illustração Pelotense, published at the city that helps to designate both. Being the first publication advertised between the years of 1913 and 1935, and the second one from 1919 to 1925, both reunite information about the social life of that epoch, reflecting the habits and customs of it. Thus, peculiarities exposed about the feminine figure, both through advertisements with photographic and illustrated images and through texts, serve as subsidies to this article development. Therefore, the studies of gender, which refer to the differences culturally set between sexes, thrust out questioning just about the observable inequalities which, at the current study, are highlighted through graphic and visual representative manifestations of the ways of being stimulated by that society.Downloads
