This article deals with the emigration and immigration of South Brazilian families to the department of Alto Paraná, Paraguay, in the decades 1970 and 1980, with the objective of analyzing the construction of the identity of these emigrants abroad. Starting from the historiographical revision of the theme, it is sought to identify which elements of composition of its ethnic and regional identity were maintained, such as language, which traits were assimilated giving rise to a hybrid identity, and the tensions present in this process. It is assumed that it is a frontier zone and, consequently, with fluid or porous identities, but even in this context, the Brazilian immigrants differed in relation to the other through the language and its original culture. As sources of study, historiographic review and oral sources are carried out.Downloads
