Abstract

This article intends to analyze the photographs of the public demonstration of the struggle for land that took place on August 9, 1990, in Praça da Matriz, Porto Alegre, published on the pages of the August 10, 1990 editions of the newspapers Folha de Hoje and O Globo. The photographs, in their formal aspects, followed the patterns of photojournalistic production that emerged from the experience accumulated between the 1960s and 1980s.
