Abstract

This article is the result of a broader work developed through teaching and research projects created with the collection of the Museu do Doce da UFPel, they aim to research and record information about the history of sweets in Pelotas-RS. We will present the results of the actions related to the institution’s photographic collection, more precisely with the collection of Nogueira Confectionery, which was donated to the Museum in 2016, by the heirs of the confectionery, which was one of the most important in the city, remaining in operation for almost a hundred years. A brief history of the confectioneries in the city of Pelotas will be presented, the formation of the museum, as well as the procedures adopted with the collection and the challenges of research and management of collections will be exposed.
