The emphasis on strategic planning in museums brings to light the main elements for a management analysis of this asset in common use. For this study, the period from 2016 to 2020 was considered, with the objective of building a portfolio of articles. Such selection was made using the ProKnow-C (Knowledge Development Process Constructivist) methodology, whose scientometric / bibliometric results, after using the research instruments, were thirty articles aligned with the theme. After reading them in full, it was concluded that the main discussions around strategic planning were grouped into five major blocks: 1) Modernization of museums: not only structural, but also digital; 2) Public Policies: which still have difficulties related to territorial dispersion; 3) Museological Plan: advantageous for pointing out safe guidelines for effective planning; 4) Use of strategic tools: BSC and SWOT analysis are the most used; 5) Contemporary trends: the main ones are management contracts and typological diversity of museums. Thus, due to the high dynamism of the subject, further studies are suggested in each of the blocks.Downloads
