Defining cultural heritage is much more difficult that it seems. The inflation of the concept of culture allows to cover almost every object. We could place the invention of cultural heritage during the French Revolution. Nevertheless, earlier records takes us back to the reliques. This paper does not pretend to the a cultural heritage history. Instead, we aim to frame the main theoretical proposals amid the definition of cultural heritage, to highlight the need of interdisciplinary studies and to offer a general glimpse to the first legislatives works in Latin America.Downloads
