In Pernambuco, the Neo-Gothic style is widely present not only in the countless buildings with more classic ornamentation that use pointed arches, but also in quite elaborate constructions, where we can see several of the characteristic elements of this movement. A name that stood out in Pernambuco’s Neo-Gothic production was the architect Rodolpho Lima, who, although still little known and studied, produced, in Pernambuco, both famous and controversial works, leaving his name registered in the history of the state’s architecture. This article comments a part of this architectural production of Lima, more precisely the small chapel of Morro da Conceição, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Casa Forte, and the Church of Our Lady of Paradise, with Casa dos Expostos, located in Recife, and the Church of Saint Savior of the World, the Cathedral of Olinda, when it was presented in a Neo-Gothic version.Downloads
