Diagnosis of solid waste in Rolandia – PR, Southern Brazil

Result of discussion of governments, private institutions and civil society, the solid waste management must be shared responsibility. On the other hand, the development of the municipal waste management plan involves the participation of society and government. The aim this study was assessment the situation Rolândia’s Household Solid Waste, localized at Southern Brazil, Paraná State. Were realized documents research and interviews with officials. It was observed that 100% of the households waste selective collected was made of private service. Although the municipal government have been worked to improving services considering its participation in the Regional Workshops for the implementation of Regionalization Plan of Integrated Solid Waste, this study suggests that the municipality needs adequacy the “bota fora” which is considered a biggest problem for the current administration, and it’s a land that was used to discard of public waste, but today has become a dumpsite for population and traders who deposit the waste without permission endangering the environment and public health.Downloads
