Abstract

Clean energy and from renewable sources is a concern about the sustainable future, to provide welfare for present and future generations. One of the alternatives is the wind energy as a considerable less aggressive source for the energy generation, also with proportionally less aggressive effects than other clean sources as the hydroelectric that can cause adverse results in social and environmental cases, for example, related to communities or environmentalists. Through a case study research, the social and environmental impacts, positive and negative were analyzed, based in the Osório Wind Farmlocated in the Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil.
