The present work had as its aim the identification and the interpretation of the pedologic system composed of Neossolos Quartzarênicos busy with extensive grassland Brachiaria decumbens through of a topossequence located in the District of Mineiros, Goiás, Brazil, relating to the soil conservation practice. Were opened and described morphologically five profiles of soil, in which proceded the collection of samples for the analytic characterization of the soil and parallel were realized of resistance tests to the penetration. It was observed that Neossolo Quartzarênico shows modifications through the topossequence, which were related to topography and, consequently condition the superficial and subsurface hydric flux. It is concluded that the routes are mainly vertical in all a topossequence, except in the basal segment to the low part, where they are lateral. The physical-chemical results show a low agriculture potential and high erosiveness, indicating that the use to grassland is correct however the manipulation adopted is not correct, it tends to potentialize the erosive process.
