ANALYSIS OF THE RISK OF INJURY TO CLIMATE/AIR AROUND THE MINGAU STREAM, IN PARQUE AMAZONIA NEIGHBORHOOD IN GOIANIA-GO.

Abstract

This article focused on the analysis of the risks the human occupation might cause to the climate/air in Goiânia, Goiás. The studies were conducted around the area drained by Mingau stream in Parque Amazônia neighborhood. Based on the ecological risks identified in the area, the Analysis of the Ecological Risk (Faria, 1996) was used to enable the planner to evaluate the interrelation between the existing/planned usage and the natural factors that characterize a specific space. The assessment of the risks to the climate/air that were applied in the vicinity of the Mingau stream demonstrated changes in the quality of environmental factors caused by urbanization, as well as quantified their harm directly related to damages in the life quality of the urban population. This study evidenced the usefulness of the execution and implementation of master plans that effectively take into account the natural characteristics of the environment (resistance and resilience), following parameters of urban planning based on factors of environmental sustainability, economic and social. In order to serve its purpose, it was proposed larger properties along the rivers to reduce the removal of natural vegetation, the change of the flow of the water available, the occupation and the soil sealing in APP's. What is needed is public awareness of the real benefits of preservation and use of the environmental factors.
