The waste generated in the agricultural production system causes immeasurable impacts on the environment. The cultivation and processing of crops such as sugar cane, oranges, açaí and cassava, generates residues such as bagasse from sugar cane and orange, the core of açaí and the cassava toxic, which can alter everything the ecosystem if not subjected to proper waste treatment. In addition to creating potential environmental problems, they represent losses of raw material and energy, but they can also provide gains in other activities if properly treated and/or disposed of. Waste management enhances the treatment process and the final disposal of agricultural waste in order to reduce the environmental impacts caused by its inadequate disposal. In this way, this work aimed to carry out a bibliographic research about residues from agricultural activities, as well as showing existing alternatives, of treatment and utilization of these residues, to reduce their environmental impact to the environment.
