Abstract

The Bananal Island and its various phases of use has been the subject of constant discussion. The island has the Araguaia National Park in its dominion, an Integral Protection Unit with great ecological relevance because of its important ecotonal area. In recent years a gradual occupation of these riparian environments has occurred, mostly as a form of leisure. The study was conducted in the area protected by the Center of Conservation and Management of Reptiles and Amphibians (RAN/ICMBio), around the Araguaia National Park. The list of environmental impacts was made by a descriptive checklist. 30 different impacts distributed according to the impacting activity were identified. Considering the impacts equivalence (the number of times each one appears), 61 impacts were found. The impacts occurrence is statistically similar, although some of those have appeared more often.
