The article presents the 3rd Brazilian Design Biennial, held in 2010 in Curitiba, Paraná. The discussion around the visual system of its five major exhibitions is followed by the analysis of data collected on interviewing organizers and visitors. We start with the idea that educational design exhibitions are an important media of information regarding material culture. Besides, initiatives like the 3rd Biennial contribute to the consolidation of a design culture in the country. In addition, the Biennials deal with social issues of our time, and the edition in Curitiba collaborates for the debate about design and sustainability.Downloads
