The innovation capability: a case study in Mãe de Deus Hospital

This paper aims to analyze the innovation capability in a health services. To meet the objectives, a qualitative case study was conducted in Mãe de Deus hospital. Data were collected based on semi-structured interviews with 9 individuals appointed by the company itself and based on available documents. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis supported by N-Vivo software. The main results showed that the studied health organization not consolidated its capability for innovation, in other words, innovation capability is under development, with regard to the strategic alignment of innovation processes. However, organizational practices were identified derived from innovation, such as: technological equipment acquisition, innovation management model, organizational structure and innovation in the introduction of the School of Health Mãe de Deus/Unisinos.Downloads
