Innovation and sustainable development: a systematic analysis of international scientific publications

This research aims to map and analyze scientific publications related to innovation and sustainable development. A bibliometrics study among journals indexed at “Web of Science” database was performed. It was identified 116 scientific papers, written by 257 authors, who are enrolled to 166 institutions in 29 countries. The content analysis organized the articles in two groups: the most referred papers and the most recent relevant papers. The results show the growth in the number of paper published with the theme innovation and sustainable development, identifying which approach these two themes are being described and opportunities for future research. As a conclusion, terms as Green Innovation, Strategic Niche Management and Environmental Management, and others, were the main expressions identified by the themes Innovation and Sustainable Development.
