Abstract

The study aims to understand the influence that the business network has on the production of symbolic goods. In this sense, an analysis of the articulated business network in the Information and Communication Technology Polo (ICT) of the City of Recife, state of Pernambuco, called Porto Digital has been developed. It is one of the Local Productive Arrangements (APL) focused on of software production in Brazil. Research tracks constituted support for a case study of a qualitative nature, in which the construction of the research corpus was based on the realization of semi-structured interviews and access to secondary data concerning the Arrangement. Results support for the view that the existing entrepreneurial articulation process at Porto Digital, the influence that business networks exert with respect to their companies enables the increase of research and development, the enhancement of expertise and promoting innovative actions containing structural elements to actualize the generation of goods full of symbolic value. The existing associative factor in this network is due to the climate of uncertainty and changes regarding the space-time relation. It articulates the composition of new organizational networks as possible virtuous cycle of technological innovation.
