This study aims to investigate the learning and knowledge creation processes that supported the development of an innovation in the fundraising process of a public institution based on the theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation by Nonaka and Takeuchi (2008) and the learning framework multilevel proposed by Crossan, Lane and White (1999). This is a study on Fiocruz's Fundraising Office, which started to act prospectively through a resource mobilization plan based on the potential of each project to offer benefits to potential sponsors, subverting the dominant logic of waiting for companies to sponsor projects. For the development of the research, the case study was adopted, with a qualitative approach of exploratory-descriptive character and the data were collected through interviews, observation and documentary research. Data analysis was guided by categories established from the integration of the mentioned theories, through which processes of knowledge creation and learning adherent to the considered theories were identified. The results showed the entrepreneurial profile, the exchange of experiences between individuals, the environmental context and the support from higher bodies as crucial elements for the development of innovation.References
