This bibliographic research aimed to analyze the national and international scientific production on the application of the concept of Natural resource-based view (NRBV) focused on the social approach (HART, 1995). NRBV is a resource-based view (RBV) spin-off that addresses organizations’ capabilities to obtain and maintain competitive advantage and economic performance (BARNEY, 2000). The theory originally proposed three key strategic capabilities: pollution prevention, product management and sustainable development. After that time, two new distinct areas were perceived in the key sustainable development strategies: clean technologies and base of pyramid (BoP) (HART; DOWELL, 2011). It was found that most articles use the concept as the basis for sustainable initiatives, mainly related to the supply chain. BoP’s key strategy, as well as another social focus, has achieved little scientific prominence, which demonstrates a gap in the social aspect that can best be explored.Downloads
