Studies on information technology (IT) investments have become important today in the business world due to high IT spending. However, the difficulties in justifying and selecting IT investments are associated with the intangible nature of the benefits gained from using these technologies. This paper proposes a model for decision support in the choice of IT tools. The model aims to analyze the dimensions of IT portfolio management (GPTI) through its benefits expected by managers with the acquisition of software (solutions / tools) and hardware. It consists of a model in which a multicriteria approach is used in order to create a ranking of the technologies, combined with the application of zero - one Integer Programming to select the technologies that will provide the greatest expected benefits, respecting the financial and technological constraints. To test the proposed model, a test was performed at a medium-sized service company. The simplicity of the model was tested in the organization and four tools selected according to the dimensions of the GPTI were obtained as a result.References
