Strategies formation process: a study at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Rio Grande do Norte

This study aimed to analyze how the strategy formation process of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte took place between 1910 and 2018. training, in addition to identifying the main phases and important events. To promote the achievement of the objectives, a case study of a qualitative nature was developed, building up a theoretical basis based on the concepts linked to the processes of strategy formation, comparing it with the findings collected, based on bibliographical and documental surveys , in addition to conducting semi-structured interviews applied to members of the institution's management body. What was identified was that the strategy formation processes occurred predominantly through the planning mode, discreetly admitting insertions of actions guided by the adaptive and entrepreneurial modes; and mostly by deliberate strategies. The analysis of the results indicated that the organization's strategies are influenced by governments and leaders.References
