This research focuses on one of the strategic environments for strengthening micro and small enterprises: technology-based business incubators. In this way, the present study aims to analyze the degree of maturity of the technology-based incubators of the Federal Institutes (FIs). An exploratory and descriptive research was carried out, using the analysis of multiple cases as a procedure, taking as a guide the study of the eight aspects of the degree of maturity of incubators developed by the Reference Centers for Innovative Technologies Foundation (CERTI) in partnership with the University Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Of the ten incubators of the IFs associated with ANPROTEC, nine responded to the survey. It was observed that the FIs' incubators obtained a better evaluation than those analyzed by CERTI in six aspects, namely: Network of Partners, Business Development Services, Monitoring the Evolution of Incubations, Regional Positioning, Attracting Enterprises and Governance. While the incubators in the CERTI study obtained a higher index in the Sustainability Model and Management areas. Likewise, it was observed that both had the lowest score related to their sustainability models. This fact is justified, because in both cases most incubators reported being highly dependent on the resources of the sponsors.Downloads
