Discharge and relapse prevention: a case report in psychology clinic

The present paper presents a report of a case assisted in the practice of a clinical psychology internship of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in the Outpatient Center for Studies and Research in Trauma and Stress (CSRTS) of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. The aim of this article is to describe the termination process with a patient assisted by the service mentioned. The purpose of the study is to show the development and progress of the treatment approach used in promoting a better understanding of the termination. For this, the methodology chosen was a theoretical review, where issues such as termination, relapse prevention and cognitive-behavioral therapy were discussed. Through vignettes of the case report, were exemplified the theories and practices involved in the process described.Downloads
