This study aimed to analyze the contributions of the SOUL DNA project. This project allows parents interested in adopting to choose late adoption. It was found that, in fact, older children are less wanted for the adoption process. Thus, we aimed to identify the meaning of adoption for the parents at the time the idea was conceived. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that the parents, in the support group, were working on issues related to their castrations and to the possibility of maternity/paternity. It was found, as a result, that there was an evolution from a state of denial and insecurity to a state in which they felt safer to adopt older children or teenagers. Moreover, the research was of exploratory nature with a qualitative approach. Five parents and five mothers chosen randomly were interviewed in semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was based on Bardin’s Content Analysis (2000).Downloads
