Cardiopulmonary and metabolic rehabilitation, an interdisciplinary practice for health and quality of life: a bibliographic review

Introduction: Cardiopulmonary and Metabolic Rehabilitation (CPMR) is characterized as an integration of interventions, called non-pharmacological actions, ensuring best physical, psychological and social conditions for patients with cardiovascular disease, pulmonary and metabolic.
Objective: Describe the CPMR emphasizing interdisciplinary approach, improving the quality of life of patients.
Method: Proposing literature review, search was performed in virtual databases: PubMed, Capes Portal, SciELO, Bireme and Cochrane Library, in search of scientific articles of the past 10 years, which present the descriptors: Rehabilitation; Quality of Life; Patient Care Team and Heart Failure.
Result: The CPMR has 4 phases, aiming the gradual progress of the recovery of the patient’s health. The interdisciplinary team in the CPMR is composed of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, physical educators, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and nutritionists. In all fases of CPMR a interdisciplinar team work, with atuation and function sometimes different or similar, for rehabilitation of functionality and potentiate quality of life.
Conclusion: Is necessary a multidisciplinary team that working interdisciplinary and collectively, to potentiate the benefits of rehabilitation, and can offer a differentiated patient care, contributing for the better quality of life.
