Trauma in childhood and personality disorders in adulthood: relations and diagnostics

The present study aimed to perform a literature non systematic review about Personality Disorders, verifying and discussing associations to traumatic experiences in childhood. The necessity of more research about all Personality Disorders, especially regarding their etiology and epidemiology was observed. Furthermore, we indicate the importance of developing new avaluation instruments, as well as interventions in childhood, aiming to prevent the development of possible disorders in adulthood.
