The present work aims to present a Food and Nutrition Education (EAN) experience, in which interventions were performed to assist military personnel in identifying healthier food choices. Twenty-two soldiers from the ranch of a battalion, aged between 20 and 37, took part. The goals were to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy eating behaviors, identification of factors that influence food choices, and planning for changes that promote health. The activities carried out during the interventions achieved satisfactory and productive results, since the military was receptive, participative, showed interest, clarified doubts and accepted well the proposed activities, as well as the instructions passed during the interventions. The results indicate that EAN is an effective and effective way to promote health, since EAN has a fundamental role in relation to the processes of change, which can provide knowledge necessary for decision making, leading to the application of healthy eating behaviors and varied, resulting in improved quality of life in all phases of life.
