Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the profile of outpatients with cardiovascular risk and patients with coronary artery disease.

Material and methods: Crosssectional study with 59 patients using a structured questionnaire to obtain sociodemographic variables, habits diet, quality and lifestyle and weight, height, waist circumference and blood pressure.

Results: The average age was 50.8 years (± 10.8), 57.6% were male female, 89.9% were overweight, 61% belonged to the socioeconomic status D-E and 45.8% had a good lifestyle. 100% made coffee in the morning, 93.2% consumed beans, 72.9% vegetables and 88.1% drinks sweetened. Lifestyle was correlated with the Body Mass Index (-0.503) (p <0.001) with the total quality of life score (0.619) (p <0.001) and with the socioeconomic class (0.569) (p <0.001).

Conclusion: The participants had a high prevalence of overweight, were mostly women, with low socioeconomic class and had a good style and quality of life. Those with better lifestyle presented better anthropometric parameters and a higher class socioeconomic status. Lifestyle, consumption of fresh fruits and low consumption of alcohol were predictive factors of quality of life.
