Introduction: The use of therapeutic resources related to Integrative and Complementary Practices (ICP) in the Unified Health System has become a reality in Brazilian Primary Health Care.
Objective: To analyze the offer of Integrative and Complementary Practices in Primary Health Care in Brazil.
Material and Methods: Cross-sectional analytical study with secondary data from the External Evaluation of the second cycle of the Access and Quality Improvement Program in Primary Care. There was inferential analysis among the Primary Care Teams (PCT) by Brazilian geographic regions using the chi-square test using the z-test adjusted by the Bonferroni method (p <0.05). The descriptive analysis by municipality was performed to make the thematic map by the Kernel Density Estimator.
Results: A total of 19.0% of the PCT offered ICP in Brazil, being higher in the Southeast (32.3%), followed by the South (19.2%) and lower in the North (6.8%) (p<0.001). The Body and / or Mental Practices (6.9%), Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapy (6.2%) and Acupuncture (5.3%) were the ICP most performed in Brazil. The map showed non-homogeneous areas and concentration between municipalities in the Southeast, South and Northeast.
Conclusion: The ICP were present in part of the PHC teams and in the Brazilian municipalities, but presented marked regional inequalities.
