In Buenos Aires, the participation of women in the administrative sector jobs has grown significantly between 1910 and 1950. The article analyzes the “paradox of the maid”, an expression which shows the two components of the phenomenon: the advantages that exist in both the salary and the possibility of career and inequality that promoted it towards social subordination. That’s how you build the memory on labor activities of women that, although the benefits received, promoted injustice.Downloads
