Environmental monitoring and its influence on dynamic capacities

Monitoring the environment is one of the key factors for decision making within an organization, because through it is possible to acquire consistent information about the environment where the organization is inserted, making the strategy to be defined more precise and assertive. Dynamic capabilities are how organizations shape the constant changes in the market, how it acts and adapts to achieve and maintain its competitive advantage. The central objective of this study is to analyze the influence of environmental monitoring on dynamic capacities. In order to reach this objective, a research was conducted that was characterized as descriptive and with a quantitative approach, in a sample of 404 Micro, Small and Medium Porte companies located in a certain region of the South of Brazil. For the analysis of the data we used the confirmatory factorial analysis and the modeling of the structural equations. The results show the influence of 78% of the environment monitoring on the dynamic capacities of the studied companies, aiming the competitive advantage and adaptation to the market where they are inserted.
