Abstract

The complex intersections between food and law should be considered as an issue to be analyzed, since food is an interdisciplinary umbrella that provides an excellent epistemological and methodological apparatus for examining contemporary social relations, illuminating the contradictions, possibilities and limits of law. And it is in this context that I intend to introduce the theme of the role of food in family law in general and in its relation to parental responsibilities in particular - which I will do by examining some recent judgments emanating from Italian courts that have had to decide disputes involving dietary issues, parental responsibilities and the best interest of the child.
