The study of the interdisciplinary relationship between developmental psychology and pediatric dentistry in the literature can present the appropriate health conditions for the child. This article aims to identify, in national and international literature, scientific evidence on the implications of developmental psychology on health and pediatric dentistry. With a qualitative methodological approach acquiring contours of the historical-cultural perspective, with emphasis in the categories of meaning, an Integrative Literature Review (RIL) was realized. The data collected in 15 articles allowed the identification of three distinct categories that sought to express the meanings and the objective of the articles: Biopsychosocial variables in oral health conditions in childhood and the interdisciplinary approach; Dental care in the sociocultural perspective of human development; and harmful habits, child development and parental care. The present study concluded that developmental psychology has expanded beyond the traditional practice in education, psychoanalysis and studies of childhood and adolescence. When referring to its performance in dentistry, the contribution has extrapolated the traditional logic of control techniques.References
