Feeding behavior in the preschool phase has its own characteristics, from birth to the child’s first years of life. Eating behavior is greatly influenced by parents, being the first nutritional educators. The aim of this study was to encourage the practice of introducing new foods among preschoolers aged 4 to 5 years, from a public school for Early Childhood Education in Sapiranga. For this, 3 interventions were proposed, namely: the story “Little Red Riding Hood and the food basket” in the first intervention; in the second, a sensory analysis of the food present in the character’s basket was addressed; third and last intervention a culinary workshop. The students expressed a broad interest in participating in the proposed activities in all interventions. It is difficult to ascertain how much the students learned during the activities, as food and nutrition education needs improved methods, aiming at future actions to be planned together with the school management team.Downloads
