Abstract

Introduction: In integrality in health in low-risk prenatal care, primary care includes professionals from the multiprofessional team to ensure that comprehensive care will be offered.

Objective: Report the experience of an inter-consultation, performed by physiotherapy students and nurses, in low-risk prenatal care.

Description: The experience took place in a basic health unit in the municipality of Santa Cruz/RN, during the prenatal period of a primiparous pregnant woman accompanied by her husband. It was possible for students to provide health guidance regarding the practice of physical activity and care for the pelvic floor, which directly contributes to student education, since they were able to experience shared care. Additionally, the nurse made the consultation with the pregnant woman, with the referral for exams and answers to the families’ doubts about the pregnancy.

Conclusion: Interprofessional consultation is presented as a fundamental strategy in prenatal care for the family, in the issue of comprehensive and humanized care, and for the academic education of the student involved, providing him with the opportunity to practice principles related to interprofessionality, humanization of assistance health education.
