Before talking about Freire’s work, it should be remembered that pedagogy, as well as philosophy and the theology of liberation are born in the midst of a historical process of liberation of the Latin-American people, cruelly repressed by dictatorships. The oppression is presented in Freire under psychological, anthropological, ontological, economic-political and pedagogical dimensions. In the article the psychological ones are analyzed which present these manifestations: introjections of the figure of the oppressor, contradictory existential duality (rejection/identification), auto-depreciation, inferiority, submission, fear of freedom. In addition to these psychological aspects, Freire offers, for a political-social psychology, epistemological fundamentals, by proposing a theory of knowledge based on the dialogue with subaltern populations.Downloads
