This study aims to analyze the power relations between personal dancers and their clients during ballroom dances in Campo Grande – Mato Grosso do Sul. To this end, we present the results of carrying out a qualitative field research , which used semi-structured interviews as a methodological instrument, shared here and analyzed with the support of the bibliographic review. Our data indicate that the power relations between personal dancers and clients are complex and subtle, constituting a business that goes beyond purely work relationships, being marked by games of interests crossed by important gender and race issues to be discussed.
