Abstract

This article is a reflection based on Bourdieu's theoretical foundation on Symbolic Power (1998) and its relationship with the work developed by Haitian immigrants in Brazil. The intentionality in the construction of this study is to apprehend the social reality from the subjects who experience it daily, what can be called a social space, in order to unveil the perceptions of the Haitian cooperative members from their memories, as well as to understand the working conditions developed in Brazil, in comparison with the work activities performed in Haiti

Judite Sanson De Bem, Universidade Unilasalle

Possui graduação em Ciências Econômicas pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1985), mestrado em Economia Rural pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1992), doutorado em História Ibero-Americana pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2001). ). Pós-doutorado em Geografia pela UFRGS - Projeto: Direito à cidade, financeirização e transformações no regime urbano na metrópole de Porto Alegre/RS. Professora do Mestrado Profissional e Doutorado Acadêmico em Memória Social e Bens Culturais da UNILASALLE. Tem experiência na área de Economia, com ênfase em Economia do Crescimento, Economia da Cultura, Economia do Trabalho, Planejamento Regional, Economia Ambiental, Economia Regional e Urbana. Responsável pelo estudo e desenvolvimento da análise econômica do COREDE Sinos-RS. Atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: Economia da Cultura, Indústrias Criativas, Desenvolvimento Regional e Urbano, Economia do Trabalho, Economia Ambiental. Participa, como pesquisador, do Núcleo Porto Alegre do Observatório da Metrópole (INCT/CNPq)
