As considerações sobre a linguagem que enfatizam seus aspectos instrumentais sempre ocuparam um lugar de destaque nas meditações sobre a condição humana. Este texto propõe-se a considerá-la sob a perspectiva da experiência intersubjetiva do diálogo. Perspectiva que nos permite acentuar e afinar diferentes focos de consideração da condição humana, sobretudo os dos espaços que viabilizam a vida política e as instituições e atividades educacionais expandidas e consolidadas universalmente, desde os tempos modernos. Reflexões filosóficas atuais dedicadas à política e à educação têm distinguido esses planos, sem descuidar de apontar o lugar central que o diálogo nele ocupa. Esse entendimento, entre outros, assumido pela hermenêutica filosófica de Gadamer, nos oferece sugestões fecundas para repensar o tema do diálogo no que respeita às atividades educacionais.

Abstract
Considerations about language which emphasize its instrumental aspects have always been put in a prominent place among the reflections about human condition. This text aims at considering language under the perspective of the intersubjective experience of dialog. This perspective allows us to intensify and tune different focuses on the human condition, especially the ones related to political life and institutions and educational activities universally spread and consolidated since modern times. Current philosophical reflections dedicated to politics and education have distinguished these domains, never forgetting to point the central role that dialog plays on them. This understanding, among others, taken by Gadamer’s hermeneutical philosophy, offers us valuable suggestions to re-think the theme of dialog in relation to educational activities.
