Abstract

Maria da Penha Law was put in place with the intent of reducing and preventing domestic and familiar violence against woman. This study aims to investigate the scope of the Maria da Penha Law, from decisions in conflicts of jurisdiction in the Court of Rio Grande do Sul. Through theoretical study and analysis of judicial decisions the requirements were identified used for the incidence of the law. The survey results indicat the presence of requeriments the intimate relationship of affection, gender violence and victms vulnerability.
