The democratic values in Brazil: revisiting the literature and analyzing the actual scene

This article seeks to discuss the following question: what is the compatibility between the aspects pointed out by the bibliography about the origins and the development of Brazilian political culture and the current public opinion? This subject is developed based on authors who describe the political process which formed Brazilian political culture together with data from Latin barometer (1995-2011) about the perception of Brazilians about confidence in institutions, satisfaction with democracy and perception about corruption and alternation of power.
