The Psychology Practice in a Service of Social Protection in the Social Work Field

During the Psychology internship it was necessary to review the Psychology practice, concerning the social commitment of the profession, facing the challenges of the practice in the Social Work field in a service of social protection the Single Social Assistance System. This report discusses experience on the functioning of the Social Assistance Reference Centers, the psychologist's role in this space. From the analysis we are faced with questions about the practice theoretical relationship of the profession and its preventive and protective character in care for families and users who sometimes repeats the usual positions of welfare and traditional clinic. So the challenge look of psychology is indispensable in this space to keep the movement of awareness and questioning.
