From the moisturizer to the glass slipper: Woman's Relation with the Consumption of Products Used in Self-Care

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the female self-care practices along with the consumption of products-oriented to this purpose. In this regard, six women, between 28 and 37 years old, with children and higher education concluded or in progress, Santa Maria – RS inhabitants, were interviewed. The data collected was structured through content analysis. The results showed that self-care and consumption are considered when focusing on health and hygiene, also, sometimes their children cares are put as priority. Despite social female role changes, the woman continues to be the protagonist in the self-care act.
